Unix pipe to perform export and import

Hi all,

When we want to move data from one database to another database , without using (dumpfile , network_link) parameter

how do we achieve it (Someonre told me we can use pipe symbol)

I do not have any idea to use pipe symbol. Can anyone share in detail ?
