Unique Record ID

Hi,

I want to create my own unique Record Id that still follows a sequence.

Does anyone know how I could incorporate the date the record was created and then a 3 digit incrementing number?

2007-10-15-001 So, Year-Month-Day-[3digit incrementing number]
