unexpected top-level tag

843844Apr 9 2009 — edited Dec 8 2009
I'm running on a tomcat 6.0 server using JSF 1.2 lib. I'm getting the following error when I try to start my app.

com.caucho.config.LineConfigException: WEB-INF/web.xml:6: <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"> is an unexpected top-level tag.

<web-app xmlns="http://caucho.com/ns/resin">,
<web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee"> or
<web-app xmlns=""> are expected.

This is my web.xml file:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee
http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd"
version="2.5">
<servlet>
<servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>

<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.faces</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>

<welcome-file-list>
<welcome-file>index.html</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
</web-app>

Any help would be great...
Thanks,
Kevin
