unexpected CPU error during Linux Installation as virtual OS using VM Box

908217Jul 13 2012 — edited Jul 13 2012
I am using Windows Vista (64 Bit) and its processor is AMD64 (which is compatilble for x86-64 structure), installed VM Box on Vista and trying to install Oracle Linux 6.2, but i am getting the error that:

"This kernel required an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU, Unable to boot, please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU"

I searched in google, tried to enable hardware assiisted virtualization in BIOS , but i am not seeing any option to enable it, i confirmed from other way with the info given at Microsoft website and got that my system does not have hardware assisted virtualization.

Please assist me how i can resolve this error and proceed for virtual OS installation.
