Undo Retention Guarantee

Hi,

I have read undo retention guarantee. Please exp-lain whether undo retention guarantee used to preserve old data in undo permanent. or it will overwrite when undo tablespace has not any space.

And also can we implement "undo retention guarantee" in production database?
