972355Apr 28 2013 — edited Apr 28 2013
Hello Experts ;

I tried some testings on 10.2.0.4 with RHEL-5.1
Testings on DB links to find password >>
Just i tried some testing , What are the drawbacks when using DBLINK.

I have user a and user b. I can see encrypted password from sys.link$

SQL> select USERID, name, passwordx from sys.link$ where
2 name='XXXXX.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM';

USERID NAME PASSWORDX
XX xxxxx.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM 05BD4A6D6C3019E29EEB898D2343BCB0C2

***************************************************

in this dictionary view (sys.link$) i have one field "password" - how can i know that value ?

*05BD4A6D6C3019E29EEB898D2343BCB0C2 --> this is password value for xx.*

using password value how can i trace exact password ?

FYI : Just for testing and trying to know concept of oracle . That's it.

" *NOTHING MORE THAN THAT* "

Thanks in advance ..
