Uncaught TypeError: apex.submit is not a function

BaonergesMay 24 2024

Hi Everyone,

Recently we updated from APEX version 20 to 23.2.6. Immediately we had an issue with one of our scan gun models where the sign in button on all apex applications stopped working. Pressing the sign in button does nothing, not error, no feedback. Its definitely an issue with that specific scan gun brand and model as the apps works correctly on all other devices even ones with the same brand name but different model.

I made an apex.oracle.come app to test on the device with the manufacturer and they see the issue. This is the error:

chromium: [INFO:CONSOLE(69)] "Uncaught TypeError: apex.submit is not a function", source: https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/r/baonerges/sample-interactive-grids/login (69)

Seems like between version 20 (can't remember the exact version) and 23.2.6 there was a change to the apex.submit function that causes this issue on these specific device models.

Can anyone help me with a way to get around this issue? Is there a way to replicate the functionality of older version apex.submit buttons so that it works again?
