Unable to select text fields on form with mouse

I am using Forms Developer 10g(10.1.2.0.2) and have a form that has been working fine until I removed some fields that were no longer needed including their associated data block items.

Now I have to use the TAB key on the keyboard to move from field to field and cannot select a text field using the mouse.

If I click the field and and hold down the mouse button then enter a character the cursor will stay in the field.

I have checked the navigation property of all the text boxes and they are all set to yes.

Are there some common reasons for this behavior?
