Unable to install Adobe Reader 9.4.1 on EL4

Dirk Napierala-OracleJan 25 2011 — edited Jan 27 2011
Hi,

trying to install AdbeRdr9.4.1-1_i486linux_enu.rpm from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.4.1/enu/AdbeRdr9.4.1-1_i486linux_enu.rpm
failed on Enterprise Linux 4 with the following error message:

rpm -i AdbeRdr9.4-1_i486linux_enu.rpm

error: Failed dependencies:
libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.5) is needed by AdobeReader_enu-9.4-1.i486

By reading this errata https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2010-0934.html
it looks like Redhat is providing a RHEL4 individual compiled package for their workstation distribution on the Redhat Nework.
Unfortunately this content is not mirrored to the Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN) cause it is workstation related.

Is there any way to workaround this error, or get the RHEL4 compatible package for testing ?

Kind regards

DN
