unable to initialize mechanism library [/usr/lib/gss/gl/mech_krb5.so]

After I completed the patch upgrades on my Solaris 9 systems on April 11th, I am no longer able to sftp to another non-Solaris 9 system.

To an upgraded Solaris system, the login messages are:

sftp account@computer1
Connecting to computer1...
unable to initialize mechanism library [usr/lib/gss/gl/mech_krb5.so]
unable to initialize mechanism library [usr/lib/gss/gl/mech_krb5.so]
Password:

and I log in.

To a linux system, I get

sftp account@computer2
Connecting to computer2...
unable to initialize mechanism library [usr/lib/gss/gl/mech_krb5.so]
xmalloc: zero size

How do I correct the situation? Or how do I backout the patches that caused the problem?

The Solaris systems were rebooted after the patches were added. The linux system is up-to-date on all its patches. The linux system has no problems with SGI or Mac systems.
