Java Security

Hi Folks,
Attempting to import a .p12 private key file into
Java Control Panel -->Security-->Certificates-->User-->Import

the file (0003310-ccert.p12) was not created with password protection.
When I select this file, I get a "Authentication Required" dialog box.
If I leave the password empty, it tells me "The password you entered is incorrect, Certificate import failed" The details are below.

I know that there is no password protection on this file, because I created it :-)
and, I was able to successfully import this in to MSCAPI certificate import wizard (leaving the password field blank), and create a mutually authenticated SSL connection (HTTPS) using Internet Explorer.

- I was able to import a trusted (self signed root) certificate via the Java control panel
- It looks like the Java certificate import wizard requries that all p12's be password protected?_
