Unable to enter root password at terminal
807559Jan 8 2010 — edited Jan 8 2010I have an issue which i've replicated on a Sunfire V880 and V890 both running Solaris 9. When the root user has locked the console, you cannot enter the password to unlock. The keyboard has been replaced and is functioning correctly. The keyboard has been disconnected and reconnected (Sun USB keyboard) which does not resolve. The servers are also up and can be accessed using telnet/SSH on the LAN. When trying to type the password, nothing appears on the screen. The password box and cursor are both present.
I don't really want to have to suffer downtime on either server by rebooting to try and resolve. So I thought i would ask on here to see if anyone else has had a similar issue and can provide any advice, keyboard shortcuts etc.
