Unable to enable SSH on Solaris 10

807557Aug 12 2008 — edited Aug 13 2008
Hello everyone,
I've only recently started to work with Solaris 10 so please excuse the newbie questions. The first one I have is as follows:

svcs ssh returns: offline 13:45:47 svc:/network/ssh:default

I've tried to use svcadm disable/enable to start and stop it to no avail
I didn't make any changes to SSHD_CONFIG except to enable root login

The only thing I can think of is that the Sparc box isn't REALLY connected to a network. In fact I'm connecting a cable straight from my Mac's ethernet to the sparc box. I've assigned IPs to both nodes and they are able to ping each other. When I try to connect to the Sparc I get a connection refused error.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
