Unable to connect to the MWA server using the MSCA IOS App

I downloaded the Oracle Mobile Supply Chain APP for iPhone from the APP store. I connected to the network using a VPN connection but when typing the URL I am unable to connect to the MWA server. I tested the connectivity using the desktop telnet client and am able to establish connection. In other words the server address and the port work fine. I also connected and logged in to the APPS server through my phone to rule out any VPN connectivity issues.

Is there something I am missing? Is anyone using MSCA on an iPhone or IOS device? How has the experience been?

I followed the instruction mentioned below except for step 3 (server patching). The reason being because I first wanted to test connectivity and experience the UI. Besides we are using MWA now in PROD on Motorola Mobile devices without problems. Not sure step 3 is valid under the circumstances.
