Unable to connect to Oracle from Windows xp mode-Virtual PC

Hi , I just installed the windows xp mode-virtual PC in my windows 7 system. I had problems running forms with windows 7.
I thought windows xp mode would help.Unfortunately I am not able to make oracle connection with xp mode. Even the tnsping doesnt work.
what could be the reason?. All the server connectivity are fine, able to connect to Internet and shared drives. I am usiing the NAT option in networking.
I appreciate if anyone can direct me correctly.
