Unable to Connect Spreadsheet Addin

I have installed Essbase client and Spreadsheet Addin 11.1.2.1 on windows XP professional version 2002 service pack 3. I opened Excel and added the Addin essexcln from the path " C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\ExcelAddin\bin. When I clicked on Essbase-> Connect nothing happens. When I try to click on Disconnect to see what message it throws, it dispalys "There are no active connections" which is fair enough. But why its not connecting or atleast not reacting?? I checked my Environment variables which are as below:
ARBORPATH : C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\ExcelAddin\bin
ESSBASEPATH : C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\ExcelAddin\bin

Please let me know wher I am going wrong??
