Unable to connect remote database as sysdba

CallmeSoumyaNov 22 2017 — edited Nov 22 2017

Hello, First of all i'm sorry if this issue was raised before.

I am trying to explain issue as follows:-

My objective is to create a duplicate database from one existing database. And i prefer to achieve it by using DUPLICATE From ACTIVE Database Using RMAN methodology.

Source db Env(server A):-

Version:-11.2.0.1

OS- Windows Server 2012 R2

SID-Ginesys

Duplicate Db Env(Server B):-

Version:-11.2.0.1

OS- Rhel 6.4

SID-Ginerep

So to achieve this while i'm trying to connect the source database(server A) from  Server B i'm getting following error

[oracle@server1 dbs]$ sqlplus sys/sys@GINESYS as sysdba

SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.1.0 Production on Wed Nov 22 20:45:12 2017 Copyright (c) 1982, 2009, Oracle.

All rights reserved.

ERROR: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

I have already checked that remote_login_passwordfile parameter is set to exclusive on source db. Also created a password file from source db and moved it into duplicate db.

Still i'm getting this error, However i can login from server B from different user,

[oracle@server1 dbs]$ sqlplus soumya/soumya@ginesys

SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.1.0 Production on Wed Nov 22 21:15:22 2017 Copyright (c) 1982, 2009, Oracle.  All rights reserved. Connected to:

Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production

Any help regarding this would be very appreciated,

Thanks. Soumya
