Hi All,

When i use select instance_name from v$instance - i have the instance name in lower case but i want it change to uppercase.

I have followed the instructions posted in several threads on simillar issue and i still cant succeed. i can see the change when i do show parameter instance name (display's upper case) but no luck when i do check from v$instance.

When I try changing the instance_name to "TEST"(a new name) (to crosscheck if it is really to do with the uppercase/lowercase or it isn't changing at all) and edit the pfile with the instance name as TEST and start the DB, It still shows the instance name as f(oldinstance name) (not changing).

Could somebody help me here?
