Ultra ATA (EIDE) disk upgrade to 20GB on Ultra 5
807559Mar 11 2002 — edited Nov 27 2002Looking for some insights on how to upgrade a Ultra5 disk. I just replaced a defective stock 7GB Seagate drive in my U5 to a Western Dig. 20GB ATA100. The U5 will only recognize 8GB of the 20. I'm unable to partition > 8 GB
I've performed the following;
boot -r
touch /reconfigure
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rdsk/cot1dos0
Currently running Solaris 2.6 (SunOS 5.6) with the latest recommended patch updates installed.
How do I get this new drive to partition to 20GB??
Thanks,
