UCM Encryption

pperee2Jun 14 2011 — edited Jun 14 2011
Dear all,

We are (still) using Oracle UCM 10g with an Oracle database 10g.
We plan to migrate, in a first step, the database to 11g.
The UCM documents are saved on the file system.
The file system and the database are hosted by an external hoster.
The inbound refinery process is also used to convert files to PDF.

This is the context of our environment.

Recently, we had a security audit.
This audit raised the point that the files and the database could be access by the sysadmin of the external hoster (which is true).
So, I am looking how to improve the security of the UCM.

- Build a custom component to encrypt and decrypt the files managed by the UCM. But this solution seems difficult to realize. Moreover, I'm afraid by the risk of lost of performance.

- Encrypt the file system. But, for this one, I don't know if the UCM is able to read a file stored on an encrypted file system and if the Inbound refinery is able to work with such kind of encrypted files.

Do you have any suggestion concerning this issue ?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Pierre
