Tuxedo 12c Installation on RHL 6.5

3493025Jun 24 2017 — edited Jul 3 2017

Hi Team,

We've requirement to Install Tuxedo12c on RHL(Red Hat Linux) 6.5 having Oracle 11g. I've downloaded tuxedo122200_64_Linux_01_x86 from Oracle. Tried to Install i Linux. I'm getting following errors when I try to run runInstaller.sh from Disk1/install folder

When I'm trying for my own user(which has root and sysman accesses) : I'm getting following error.

You do not have sufficient permissions to access the inventory '/opt/oracle/oraInventory'. Installation cannot continue. It is required that the primary group of the install user is same as the inventory owner group. Make sure that the install user is part of the inventory owner group and restart the installer.

Afterwards I switched to Oracle user and try to run the runInstaller.sh then I'm getting error :  runInstaller not found

As there are there are another file with name runInstaller, I tried to run that file (./runInstaller) I'm getting error : Permission denied.(

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX]$ ./runInstaller.sh

runInstaller not found

[XXXXXXXXXXXXXX]$ ./runInstaller

-bash: ./runInstaller: Permission denied

Is it mandatory that I need to run the Installer using root user only??

And also please let me know whether any documentation which details Oracle 12c Installation Procedures?

Thanks

Kalyan Alamuru
