Turn off "Show friendly HTTP error messages" programmatically

Sorry about uncomplete title in the last post.

If IE's Show friendly HTTP error messages is on,

HttpServletResponse.sendRedirect("<web site address>")

doesn't work for some <web site address>. Can we detect the setting or is there a
way to turn it on programmatically?
