This may get a giggle or two but I have been administering Sybase IQ and ASE for the past 6 years and just got thrown back into a Oracle 11G environment on Windows 2008 R2 (Yuck) . I listed the issue below.
a) 11.2.0.3 is running and I need to upgrade to 11.2.0.4
b) So, I download the software and try installing it under a new ORACLE_HOME (I want to do a out of place upgrade not wanting to overwrite the existing %ORACLE_HOME%)
c) I get to the .... " Component Installation Failed, Specified Key Not Found".. I know it's a registry key so I do this.
-
Stop all Windows services
-
deleting the KEY_Oradb11g_home3 and starting over to no avail
REGEDIT
SOFTWARE
oracle
KEY\_Oradb11g\_home1 \<-------------------- IS MY CURRENT Registry KEY for 11.0.2.3
So the installation guide says you can have 2 Oracle Homes??? Anybody know why I can't get passed this error?
