Trouble installing 8.1.7 on Linux

Hello.

I'd like to install 8.1.7 on my PC at home with Mandrake Linux 9.1. I want to install 8i, because that's what we're using at work.

So I downloaded 8.1.7 and tried to run runInstaller of the "CD". It prints:

Initializing Java Virtual Machine from ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8/1/DataFiles/Expanded/linux/bin/jre. Please wait...

And I'm waiting for about 5 hours now so I suppose it's safe to assume that will happen anymore.
How can I get 8.1.7 to install?
