Trouble in getting OID up and running

485756Feb 7 2006 — edited Feb 9 2006
Hi:
I have the following problem and need help:

I need to install Oracle AS for this my OID must be up and running.

I start the OID with the following command
oidctl connect=odb server=oidldapd instance=1 configset=1 start
where odb is the name of my DB

the instance is get started

when i give the port No and host name during Oracle AS installation the installation gives error that OID is not up and running.

After starting the instance I am also not able to start the oracle directory manager. I login using the superuser username i.e cn=orcladmin and my password.

The port is 389 but then i click on select directory server the port 389 is not available. I went to the ias_properties find the OID port there was 13061. I tried to give this port but this is also not avalilable and i am also not able to loging to the directory manager with it.

The only available port is 1521 believing in hit and try i gave this port also but it never logged in but also never gave any error message.

so my question is how to run OID so that i can proceed with ORACLE AS installation

please anybody help ASAP

with best regards

Waqas
