Transparent jbutton icon

Hi,
i have an icon wich i want to use as a play button. So it has a white triangle in the middle and the rest is transparent. I want to put it in a jbutton and see the jbutton's background. Is this possible?
I am using netbeans and I add the icon in a jbutton in the Design mode but I can't see the Jbutton background.
