Transforming Cobol Copybook in OSB and routing it to Target Applications

User549339-OCMay 8 2013 — edited May 8 2013
Hello All-

Hope everybody is doing good. I need inputs regarding the following use case which we are planning to implement in Oracle Service Bus.

1. We have an application which extracts data from Mainframe system and publishes it to a JMS queue in the Weblogic Env.
2. The data that is enqueued in to JMS queue is in Cobol Copybook format
3. We have to develop an OSB service which will
Subscribe to the JMS queue
Read the Cobol Copybook
Transform it into the target application format
Route it to the target application

Based on my understanding, I think we have to use the MFL feature in OSB, however I need inputs on the following
1. Should we go for MFL or should we generate an XSD out of the Cobol Copybook in NXSD wizard in SOA Suite
2. Can we use the MFL based OSB proxy service to read the message from the queue ?
3. Is there any other better approach to achieve the above mentioned use case.

Thanks in advance for your inputs. Appreciate your time.

P.S: I will definitely mark it as answered so that somebody who replies will get some points.

Regards,
Dibyaaa
