Tools for Oracle DB 9i

578923May 22 2007 — edited May 22 2007
Hi all,

I'm a 'newbie' in terms of Oracle coming form an Interbase/Firebird background.

What tools (preferably GUI) are available for creating Oracle Db's, tables, metadata etc?

The installation was created and is maintained by a third party developer but, with previous history of slow development, I am looking to extend the data available through customs reports (probably using Crystal Reports) and also more proprietary (seperate) Db design of a technical (rather than commercial) nature.

As this is just an 'add-on' to what is currently available from the 3rd party, I would prefer free tools as the final results will not be 'marketable' but rather just a 'one-off'.

The idea is to view existing table structures/contents so that I know what to link to in order to extract the necessary data with Crystal Rports (or any recommended reprot tool for Oracle).
and
Also create my own seperate Db/tables/metadata for more proprietary custom data input/data visualisation.

My background is Delphi so this will be my prefered route to data input/output in the later situation, probably with Corelab's VCL components.

Regards
