Too many bind failures for instance svc:/network/ftp/tcp/default error
I upgraded a Solaris 8 server without Live Upgrade (no need here). I noticed my proftpd didn't work and saw it had to do with telnet using tcp6, so I looked at my inetd.conf and it had been chopped down, maybe by the upgrade. So I brought over a brand new copy of a working inetd.conf and ran inetadm -i and now Im getting boot errors that say
Failed to bind to the port of service instance svc:/network/ftp/tcp:default, proto tcp: Address already in use
Too many bind failures for instance svc:/network/ftp/tcp/default, transitioning to maintenance
How can I fix this or how can I clean out and restart from fresh with the inetd.conf? I do not know why the inetd.conf I had after the install was basically empty because the system was working before the upgrade and it would not have if the inetd.conf was empty.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
