TOMCAT/APACHE REQUIREMENTS For RESTful Apis using APEX

Deepa UnniSep 8 2017 — edited Sep 13 2017

Hi...

We are currently using Oracle EBS R12.1.3.

We have also installed APEX on our EBS Database for various reporting needs.

We are currently evaluating our architectural requirements if we choose to use RESTful API WEB Services using Oracle APEX.

Our current configurations are as below for APEX are as below:

Operating System - Solaris 11

APEX version - 5.0.3.00.03

Web Listener - ORDS - 2.0.8

Web Server/J2EE Server - TOMCAT APACHE - 8.5.9

Tomcat Java Version - 1.8.0_121

Database Version & edition -12.1.0.2

Oracle EBS Version - R12.1.3

If we have 2 different web servers ( in 2 different physical machine), can they be linked to a single ORDS? or do we need to have separate ORDS on both the web servers?

Can anyone please advise/suggest anything that we may need to consider implementing REST APIs/Webservices using Oracle APEX for EBS 12.1.3.

Where should I start to determine both architectural needs/developmental skill sets needs to build/configure for RESTful Apis?

I have very little/no exposure to Webservices nor RESTful Apis...,so please bear with my ignorance..

Any help is greatly appreciated..

Regards

Deepa
