TOAD does not connect user with Read only access

I am using TOAD 9.0.1 and Oracle 10.2.0 . As a READ ONLY user , I can connect to database thru SQLPLUS. However while trying to connect thru TOAD, it throws the error " Invalid Username/Password" . I tried all other READ ONLY users, all threw the same error. When trying with READ- WRITE access user, login thru TOAD, it was successful.

Do I need to change any settings in TOAD so that READ ONLY user can login ?
