To take a cold backup, is it OK to SHUTDOWN ABORT?

DB version:10gR2

For our Test DB, I always do SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE before taking a cold backup. But SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE takes a long time.
Is it OK if issue SHUTDOWN ABORT before taking a cold backup
