To replace NULL with space

Hi,
In numeric fields which do not have any value in database, NULL value is being displayed for those records. Instead of NULL being displayed, I want to leave that record blank. I tried to set the value in Options menu "Replace NULL value: <blank>" but it does not reflect on the worksheet. Even if i set Replace NULL value: 0.. it is not being reflected in the worksheet.
