to generate a .prn for the report

hello,
i have a little problem.
i m working wih reports 9i and the output is generated in PDF format.
i want to know how to generate a .prn file for the shown report,if possible from the report or the form thru which the report is being called, coz we need to take the .prn file and then give it for printing .
or is it possible to generate this report in .txt format without loosing its format.
please send this information fast, if possible.
