to enter the dob as 'DD-MON-YYYY'

hi everybody,

i need to create a table with name, id, salary, dob(DD-MON-YYY), position doj(DD-MM-YYYY).
for this i cant able to create dob and doj in the given format. when i give date as data type it enters as (28-DEC-92).
please help me to solve this..
