TNS (Transparent Network Substrate)

411268Jan 9 2004 — edited Jan 9 2004
Hello,

I am little bit confuseed about the meaning of TNS (Transparent Network Substrate). I know what it does: It enables Applications to communicate with different network protocols. But I don't know exactly what it is!

What is it:

- Oracle's networking architecture (or the core technology of it)

- A foundation technology, only built into the Oracle Net foundation layer

- is Oracle Net foundation layer functionality therefore equal to Transparent Network Substrate (TNS) functionality because TNS is part of Oracle Net foundation layer ???

- a Protocol

- a network protocol stack

Thanks

Axel
