TNS: protocol adapter error on Windows client

Hi

I created a XE DB on Linux and can connect locally with SQLPlus and the web browser.

I installed the 10g xe client on my windows pc and also have 10g admin installed to administrate my other 10g DB's.

When tried to run my xe sqlplus command prompt to connect to the XE DB on Linux I can't connect. Do I need to remove my other 10g installation? I even setup the EZCONNECT settings in SQLNET.ORA in case but still no luck?

Can anyone help with this one?
