TNS connect timeout

781089Aug 16 2010 — edited Aug 18 2010
Hi, Im trying to connect to my 11g/r2 database on an installation of OEL 5.5 from a windows laptop on the same wireless network (at home) using instant client sqlplus...

I have installed and configured instant client on the windows laptop, but everytime I try to connect to the oracle database on OEL i get a TNS connect timeout...

Im wondering if there is something on the linux machine blocking the connection?

im new to linux... i can ping the linux machine from the windows client, but I dont think I can ping the windows client from the linux machine : (maybe its not this.... does anyone have any ideas??)

[matt@dbserver ~]$ ping 192.168.1.11
