TNS-12543: TNS:destination host unreachable

I am running two oracle 11g virtual machine installed on red hat 5 in vmware. I did configure well as per the procedure. i did configure /etc/hosts and put the other machine ip and name and able to ping both the machine from one another.
But i am able to tnsping from 1st machine to other but reverse is not true.
