TM Locks

Hi,

I am noticing excessive TM Locks in the awr report...like about 90% of the waits are attributed towards the TM locks. Apparently, an UPDATE statement on one of the tables has caused these TM locks. I am wondering to what might be causing these TM Locks...I haven't noticed any DDL activity on this particular Table. It does have FK and are indexed. Any clues, insights would be appreciated.

Just FYI...the columns being updated have indexes and the INI_TRANS is set to 2 (the defaults).

Environment: 10.2.0.2 on Sun Solaris.
