Timestamp format 'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS'

in my insert sql query, how can i specify the timestamp format:
'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS' to get date like "31/05/2006 22:00:00"

i need the whole syntax pls icant find it.
