I have frequent connection/session timeouts in both SQL Developer and SD4VSC (sorry).
With SQL Developer it seemed to recover with a dialog saying my connection was reset. Annoying but tolerable.
With the extension this seems to happen more frequently with the following differences:
- it seems to take longer for it to realize the connection is gone
- when it finally does realize, I'm asked if I want to reconnect
- it's even more painful if this occurs while I'm navigating the object tree vs dealing with a worksheet
It's particularly troublesome when I'm doing an adhoc presentation. I've taken to just disconnecting and reconnecting beforehand (if I remember). Otherwise there's a lot of apologizing for delays.
Ideally I'd like the sessions to last longer, but that may be too complex an issue to deal with here. However, if there is a way to have it "fail faster" and then an option to just automatically reconnect instead of asking me a all the time, that would be a help.
This may just be a “me” problem. 🙂
