Threads in Java

843811Mar 2 2002 — edited Oct 17 2002
Hello,
In windows operating sysytem it is said it works on the
principal of preempetive schedulling a time-slicing techni
que.The task manager shows the following options
1)Appliocation Tab
2)Processes
3)Memory Usage
Now consider there be 10 processes running ,does the
operating system gives the access to all the processes
in Round Robin manner? If one of the process among them is of java type, does it gets the access in rounds, here in rounds i mean to say in next cycle of the
CPU if the java process is not over in one CPU cycle.
Is the same happening in other oprating system?Plese
tell about the unix and linux how is this done. How the
Schedular works there?
Once this part is Clear I can continue with the Threads
issue where I had doubts.Hope an explainatory responses and sources.
thanks
vicky
