Thoughts about Eclipse IDEs ...

First off, apologies for not posting to forum designed specifically for this, but I checked and it gets very little traffic.

We might be going with Flex derived applications in the future. I decided to get a leg up on it; so I am taking the 'Learn Flex in a week" tutorial at the adobe Flex site. Ok, that's that.

But in order to begin developing in Flex, I will need FlexBuilder, which is, apparently, built on top of Eclipse. It seems I have the option of using Eclipse with the Flex pluggin, or downloading FlexBuilder. I have noticed that it seems most here prefer Eclipse over Netbeans. If that's the case then I'd rather do the former.

I don't use an IDE at all, but a few years ago I downloaded eclipse-SDK-2.1.3-win32.zip. I imagine this is so out of date now that I should probably just discard it. Does anyone happen to know:

1. Which version of Java this will work with?
2. How I can easily find out which version of Eclipe I need that will work with Java v1.5x? (I am looking around the IBM site right now and I am having a bit of a time locating exactly what I want).
