"This application requires an earlier version of Java..."

I know this has probably been asked before, but how do I get rid of this message? Java performs automatic updates, so I've assumed it's up to date. What is the latest version and how do I get it? Or do I need an older version like the message suggests?

I went to this site:
http://pscode.org/prop/?prop=java.version%2Cjava.vm.version
and it tells me that I'm using "java.version: 1.6.0-oem" and "java.vm.version: 1.6.0-oem-b104."

Also, my Java control panel says that 1.6.0-oem, 1.6.0_16, and 1.6.0_07 are "enabled." . . .not that I know what any of this means.

In Programs and Features I have:

Java DB 10.3.1.4
Java(TM) 6 Update 7
Java(TM) 6 Update 16
Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 7
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6

do I need all of these?
I'm running Vista. Thanks.
