Thesaurus backup - periodically

630530Feb 17 2009 — edited Feb 18 2009
Hi there,

Backing up an Oracle thesaurus is done issuing the ctxload command. I would like to find an automated way to back up my thesaurus periodically (let's say, once per month). Can I do this in an automated way? It would be ideal to do this using an Oracle Job. Is there perhaps a package which performs the same task as ctxload? Running it manually every time is certainly not the way to go for me, and running it as a script on the DB server is also not ideal, since I don't want to stores plain text passwords in the batch script running it...

Any help would be kindly appreciated, thanks!

p.s. Moreover, i could not locate ctxload. Is it shipped with the Oracle clients or do I have to install it separately?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Martin
