the size of db_recovery_file_dest_size

I worked on oracle db 11g release 2 , my db log mode = No archive mode, although I noticed (after make chck on the parameter db_recovery_file_dest_size) that the size of this parameter is in increasing day after day.

May to tell me the reasons that make db_recovery_file_dest_size to be increased although the log mode of the database in the No archive mode.
