The # of sockets limitation of SE in a VM HA cluster

Hi all,

Hopefully someone here could help me clarify one thing that has been confusing me for a long time.

According to what I read about the Oracle DB licensing policy, SE is limited on a physical server with no more than 4 sockets.

Imagine the case that I have 3 dual-socket physical servers together with Vsphere licenses to compose a VM HA cluster. I would like to license all sockets with SE CPU licenses, hence 6 x Oracle SE CPU Lic... Is this going to work? I am worried as I do not know whether we should count all sockets in the VM cluster and apply the 4 sockets limitation rule...
