The fastest way to read data

Hello,

I need some advices.
My data consists of about 3000 xml documents. It is about 5GB. I need to know a way of reading these documents very fast and get results I need.

I was thinking that if I store all those file's contents in database and then read that database to get results. But I dont know if I'm right.

Could you give me some advices?
