text keyboard input not seen in SQL Developer dialog boxes

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use SQL developer 3.0.04.34 with MAC OS X 10.5.8, Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Developer Package Update 10.

What I'm finding is that regular text input is not working from keyboard in dialog boxes expecting text that I have tried. (eg add new connection)

I can delete, and ^+V paste and enter, and <Tab> to move entry area etc but not regular typing of (letters numerals etc.) .

Have tried selecting different <default> keyboard shortcuts in Tools > Preferences > Shortcut Keys > More Actions > Load Keyboard Scheme... which made no difference to the issue, but note that on the keyboard shortcuts dialog box, in the New shortcut <Assign> area text key presses are recognised and will appear.

thanks for any pointers,
